01. This time last year what goals did you have for yourself and have you achieved any of them?
Hmm, Jon and I had moved in together, I'd gotten my LMT license, so I was looking for a job. We were steadily heading towards an engagement in our very happy relationship. I have actually achieved them all.

02. What’s one quality about yourself that you feel sets you back but also helps you?
I'm too nice for my own good. I can't stand people being upset at me and I hate upsetting them.

03. Has anything happened involving you recently that has people in your life acting different towards you?
Two very good friends from high school. Have more or less cut me out of their lives for their significant other. That's pretty much it.

04. Is there anyone who lately you’ve been talking to more often?
Jonathan, Jessica, and Martika... The same as usual.

Emmm, Jonathan. And goldfish.

Italian is pretty good, I mean pizza and pasta basically are the best. But I love Indian and Korean food too. xD

I've recently rediscovered Finntroll... and several other power metal bands.

I'm reading one now.

I want to ask someone for forgiveness. And I know this person wants nothing to do with me. So, that's why I'm afraid of that question.

Gah! There are so many I'd love to have lunch with. xD

Not sure really, don’t purposely hide anything, it’s hard enough to talk to me anyway so once I’m talking I don’t really hide anything.

Sorry, but not sorry...

So I have a small rant to deal with here. I'm planning a wedding, I assume my readers know this. I got engaged, so the next logical thing is to start planning a wedding. Right? ...Right.

That being said, I have to keep in mind that my parents want to pay for this event, minus the wedding gown, I flat out told them I would be paying for that, so that I get the complete and final say in that. So like I said, keeping in mind that my parents are paying for it, I want to keep the cost as low as possible. One way to do this is to have a very small wedding, and by small, I mean less than 100 people. Jon and I just want close friends and family, that is all. No people we barely know, no people who are for lack of a better term, Facebook friends. I can't do it, I can't invite every person we know, it would cost a fortune.

I don't want my parents to break the bank on this event. Yes, I know that it's supposed to be a grand affair, it's supposed to be beautiful, it's supposed to be about Jon and I, but I would feel horrible to make my family pay a fortune for it. I'm not that materialistic as that.

What Jon and I decided, please read that again, it distinctly says Jon AND I . We made the decision to only invite our close family, and closest friends. That being said, that means that there are a few people who will  be invited, but not their significant other. Mostly because Jon and I don't know said significant other, and guess what? A wedding is so not the time or place to get to know your friend's significant other, it's just not. No amount or arguing, complaining, or whining about it is going to change that. I'd say that I'm sorry that these particular people are not and will not be invited, but I'm not and neither is Jon. Because, again, it is OUR wedding. If you want to invite 300 people to YOUR wedding, then you do that; however, I will not be guilt tripped into inviting these people that we don't know to a wedding.

I think that people assume that we are singling them out and being "mean" to them and their significant other. And to be honest, it is nothing of the sort. It all boils down to the cost and the lack of a true connection/ friendship with these people. I'm not going to feel sorry for that, I'm just not. If you're going to take this as a personal vendetta against you and your significant other, that's your prerogative. To each, his own, as it were.

What I love even more about this, is that people who were so set on being there, because they are so happy for us, because they are a close friend and wanted to share in such an important day in my life have since changed their tune. Now that it is known that only very close friends and family will be invited, they no longer want to come. I'm the bad guy for planning the wedding of Jon's and my dreams. Is that so wrong? Apparently the answer must be yes, I mean if I'm offending these people so much. Last I checked, I never told anyone else how to plan their wedding, and never once complained if my significant other was not invited, and neither did Jon. we understand with the economy it just not frugal to invite everyone and their mother to your wedding, especially not for a budget wedding.

And please note, we aren't just inviting our friends and not their significant other, I can tell you right now, my younger brother is invited, however his little girlfriend is not. Granted, yes there are reasons that she is not invited. Mostly because there is some serious tension and dislike between my family and her's, but that is neither here nor there. I'm just stating there we're not just doing it to friend's, we're doing it to family too. It's not anything against anyone, we have a budget and we HAVE to stick to it. End of story. No ifs, ands, or buts. Not sorry. Get over it.  I'll be hurt, not gonna lie, I want my close friends and family there, but if you decide not to come to our wedding, your loss, not mine. I will have a wonderful wedding with the people who truly care about us and that is all I have to say about it. The end.

Whoot for news

It's probably about time for a quick update. I mean it has been a few weeks. Granted it's mostly the same old, same old.

Work has be hectic, I've been picking up/ covering hours for people whenever I can, the extra cash is nice. though most of it goes right into savings for reasons. Reasons I can't say yet. I'm not exactly allowed. xD Only Jess and Martika know why... but they too have been sworn to secrecy. When the time comes, I'll post all about it on my blog of course.

In exciting news we got a kitten. Her name is Ripley, she's adorable. She's a little brat though, always wants to play when we want to sleep, and vice versa. xD The other cats are still getting used to her, but Jon and I are now apparently official crazy cat people, because we have four of them now.

We're slowing making the house more like a home, finally deciding on colors, and the types of plants we want in the garden. You know, like couples do. It's nice. It's all falling together, even if it does take some time and money to get it all done. Our biggest expense is going to be the new mattress we really need/ want to get. It's a bit pricey, but it'll be worth it for the wonderful sleep we'll get once we have it. 

I've also forgotten how wonderful Netflix is. We finally got better internet service. Everything is clear and fast, we can watch Netflix properly, YouTube doesn't take ages to load, it's fantastic. Such a long overdue little thing we needed to get done. I can watch all those fun documentaries, and tv shows I love. ^.^

I'm trying to figure out where exactly March went. Where February dragged on for what seemed like ages, March blew by like nothing. It's weird. But Spring is on it's way, and it is truly welcomed... I'm done with snow and cold weather. 

For the time being that's all I have to say. That may change, I have a feeling a small rant is coming up, nothing too terrible. I promise. xD 

20 Relationship facts.... fun....

So I was asked to do a 20 facts about my relationship with Jon. I can't remember if I've ever done one before, even if I did, this can be an updated version of it. xD

1) We've known one another now for almost ten years. He was a close family friend for a long time before we both decided we had mutual feelings for one another.

2) Our first date was supposed to be to a Cannibal Corpse concert, but he got tickets to Dethklok, and that ended up being our first date, a month ahead of Cannibal Corpse which ended up being our second date. And 90% of our dates have been to concerts of some sort.

3) Jon is exactly 11 years, 2 months, 21 days older than I am. Not complaining about it either, I love our age difference. It allows for a lot growing and learning from one another.

4) We've been together just over a year, but everyone who knows us well, says we've been together for years and were just in denial up until we had our first date.

5) We don't really ever fight. We bicker and bitch at one another more than anything. It's never anything too over the top, it's just funny more than anything else.

6) We've been living together since September. It's been really nice. No one has to drive 150+ miles to visit the other. Plus I get cuddles every night before bed... soooooo nice. :3

7) Given the choice in movies, we'll end up doing a Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones, or Alien marathon. We are awesome and nerdy.

8) I managed to get him in to Game of Thrones and Once Upon a Time... he LOVES them both. Which in turn makes me happy, because they are two of my absolute favorite shows.

9) Our go to food is either IHOP/ Perkins, Jersey Mike's, or Texas Roadhouse... we love our steak. xD

10) Neither one of us can remember who verbally said 'I love you ' first, but I said it first through text, neither of us will argue that.

11) I have been to every concert he's performed in with Suspect Earth, and don't plan to ever miss one.
12) We both want to get married, to one another. We've actually discussed it, many, many times. He's already stated that my engagement ring will be black gold, with a black diamond... or white gold, with a black diamond. There's no questioning that. He knows me so well.

13) He willing tolerates my Disney obsession. and actually likes a few of my favorites... and truly only tolerates the others because he loves me ( Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King)

14) Jon made the first move to kiss me. It was actually really sweet. We were watching our Indiana Jones marathon, and once it was over we were curled up on the sofa together, holding hands and just chatting/ whispering sweet nothings to one another, when he just gently reached over and kissed me gently. Best gift I could have gotten that Christmas, ( and yes, it was on Christmas). ^.^

15) He loves my cooking. So much that's he's put on a bit of weight since I moved in. He's got this cute little pudge. It's adorable really.

16) He's truly gotten me into video games. Neither of us has much time for them lately, but when we do get to play them it's awesome. Our current favorites being Mario Kart and Dead Space.

17) For the longest time my grandmother hated our relationship (as did several others). She didn't like the age difference and now she's not so fond of our living together. But she'll come around. 

18) We have been to the Mothman Festival three times together. It's kinda what really kick-started our relationship. Yay nerdyness.

19) We're both curly-haired gingers. Our children are going to have some awesome hair.

20) And last but not least, we've had the same basic sleep schedule for over a year and a half. It's not a normal person's sleep schedule, so there's a lot we end up missing because we stay up so late, and wake up so late.

Mothman and updates....

I'm baaaack!  xD

Mothman Festival this year was fantastic. Granted it rained most of the day Saturday, but that didn't stop Jon and I. After about two hours of guest speakers we decided to go for a walk, even if it was raining. It was really sweet actually, Jon kept making sure I wasn't going to step in puddles and such. All gentlemanly. ^-^ We listened to some awesome bands, went for a really nice walk around Point Pleasant just to spend time together and explore, it was quite fun, we ate Mothman burgers ( friggin' delicious by the way) at Harris Steakhouse, explored the TNT bunkers in the middle of the night ( rather creepy, but completely awesome). Overall a fantastic weekend of nerdyness, we even got matching coffee mugs and Mothman Blend coffee from the Silver Bridge Company. Enjoy the slideshow.



Other than that, Jon and I have a few busy weeks ahead of us, this Friday we're watching Cora, Saturday we're supposed to go car shopping after the AA meeting, Sunday evening is Helloween. After that, next Friday is Hatebreed, Saturday is the tattoo party. The following week is Deicide and then the Suspect Earth concert. So much music, so little time. xD But at least we keep busy. We're closing in on our one year anniversary too, excited to celebrate that. We have to think of something fun and special to do. Though, I think Jon has it in his head to go see Slayer the weekend after our anniversary... which would be awesome, mostly because our first date was to a concert. ^-^

Emm, not much else to report on at the moment. Just life stuff I suppose, though I get the feeling that there's going to be a rant coming up soon. Someone has seriously pissed me off once again, and is blaming me for their problems, and that I'm apparently a heartless bitch. But oh well, I'll save that for later.

Em, my commencement ceremony for finishing my massage therapy degree is this Friday. I get to wear this horrible blood red graduation cap and gown. Only redeeming quality is, I actually look good in blood red. Odd for a ginger I know.

It's February, I know... but I am utterly tired of snow. We went from 2-3 gorgeous days of 50F+ degree weather to 9F. And there was the "1-2" inches of snow we were supposed to get that turned into 4 inches of snow. And guess what? We got even more today too. What's worse is I had to drive out in the nasty weather both days. I don't like driving in snow, and it's not because I can't.... it's more like I live in Northwest Ohio.... where people SHOULD know how to drive in this sort of weather. However, it's like 85% of the people who live here, either conveniently forget EVERY single time it snows... or simply have not bloody clue. 6 more weeks of winter. Joy... and watch, because I live in NW Ohio, we'll have a freak snow storm in April or something. xD

Hmm, what else is there?  I'm going to see Nile, Bless the Child, and Shores of Elysium in March with Jonathan. I find it funny that every single one of our dates has been to a concert of some sort. Not that it bugs me, I love music... especially the music we go see.

Because I am unemployed, I tend to have a lot of free time when I'm not taking care of the things that need to be done around the house. With that free time, I have managed to read 6 books in the last 2 weeks. It's kinda pathetic. And even more so when you take into account that 4 of those books were well over 500 pages. Awkwardness and such...

I do too many surveys, but honestly I find them fun. So I guess it really doesn't matter. But I'm sorta going to do an update.

Christmas has passed, it was nice overall. Sadly we didn't get snow until after the holiday, but it was really nice to spend time with family, friends and Jon. Gifts don't honestly mean much to me, I'd rather spend this time of year with the above mentioned people rather than receive gifts. ^-^

I'd love to post about all the amazing things I got for Christmas, but to be very honest, I got " A Tale of Two Cities" and then money for my license... that's it. But, that is more or less what I asked for. I'm 21, I don't need a huge amount of gifts. xD

Though, I can talk about those lovely awkward family get togethers you have to go to as a couple. Now, don't get me wrong they are fun, but when you've never the people at the get together for your boyfriend's family, it's a little odd. Especially for me, I'm already socially awkward enough as it... the added stress of not knowing anyone but Jon and his brother makes it even harder for me to be able to calmly try and have a conversation. Yay for stuttering now and then. xD

Oh, we got snow. Yay snow! ... Wait... no... I don't like the cold that much, and I really don't like having to to shovel it. Nor do I like driving in it. Ok, not so much the driving in it, more so dealing with the stupid people driving in it... we live in northwest Ohio, by a lake for fuck's sake, you should know how to drive in the goddamn snow by now. It's really not that difficult when you think about it in retrospect. *shrugs* Can't fix stupid apparently.

Also, I "love" getting relationship advice from a 17 yr old, who has only ever had one girlfriend, and has never actually met this girl. How the hell does that work? I'd love for someone to explain that one to me, because otherwise I don't think I will ever understand. >.<

This blog is not going to make much sense to anyone but Jessica. And you know what? That's ok. At least some of you might get a laugh out of it.

Jess and I went out for supper to Pita Pit. Let me put it this way, we got there at about 1900... we did not leave until 2145 and that was only because we had to. I'm going to do a sorta listy thingie ma bobber... because that'll make it "easier" and also, these are in no real order of how they went tonight. Ayup, so here goes. 

• Topic one that we some how managed to get on. Guys. Yep, common topic with us. First off you should know that any guy either of us dates has to be able to handle the other. So that being said, we came up with this "You've pissed me off, go see Rachael/ Jessica. She already knows you've upset me"... "But..".... "No buts, just go see Rachael/ Jessica. She'll tell you what to do" 
• On from that we decided that said significant other should stock up on pillows, come in very handy for a makeshift padded room. And they may want to invest in a "hug-me-jacket".. aka straitjacket. My mind went off the deep end with that. "Hmm, a straitjacket could come in handy. It limits movement... that could be fun." << Insert Jess blushing here>> 
• Don't take Jess' colours (crayons) ... let me repeat that. DON'T take Jess' colours! Unless you want to be promptly spaz attacked, it's best to just back out the room when she's with her colours. Taking her colours will result in mass beatings and sadness. And no one likes a sad panda. 
• Speaking of colours, at one point I told Jess that if anyone took her colours I'd replace them with glitter paint. That prompted "Yay! Glitter paint!".... But because apparently, Jess is special and eats her colours, she'd also eat the paints. So according to Martika, it'd look like "She blew Edward Cullen"... or to be more tactical about it, we'll name the colour "she BLUE Edward Cullen". Yep. Jess then tried to argue that the paint was not for eating, it was for finger painting on the walls. "So, Jess... instead of blowing Edward Cullen... you gave him a handjob?" << Insert more of Jess blushing here>>

She side-steps me as I spit my soda out onto the ground and Jess laughs, making the comment that it was good that she hadn't caught me mid-swallow.

And that was our adventure for the evening. I'm sure you'll here more of our fun when we go out again this coming Tuesday to watch The Hobbit, go to second breakfast and of course, the highlight of the trip... Cirilla's! Yay adult stores!  Only going because Jess hasn't been there yet, have to rectify that. ^-^
